How to Get Your Children Moving with YOGA
Monday, March 19, 2012
06:00 PM to 07:30 PM
“Yoga isn’t just for adults - be active as a family."
Description
Yoga is a great way for your child to develop core strength, balance, and confidence in your child while having fun! The physical benefits of yoga include improved flexibility, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, it also helps with building a sense of calmness and relaxation, and can help with self-regulation. We will look at the benefits of yoga, such as breathing exercises and improving strength and balance, and how these can impact your children’s daily lives.
This workshop will help parents understand how to implement these strategies into your routines. We will also learn more about the SMILY (Sensory Motor Integration & Learning with Yoga) program offered at this clinic which incorporates breathing techniques, stories, music and songs, and fine motor activities. Bring your children along to learn some basic yoga poses to help you lead an active balanced lifestyle.
Date: Monday, March 19th
Time: 6-7:30pm
Child Care: This workshop is for parents & children to do together.
